Palliative care

The aim was to give a woman with terminal cancer a voice in the debate on the right to palliative care, and to put a legal right to it on the agenda.
I wrote the letter to the editor on her behalf and handled pitching to the media. It went out in her name, and her story reached a string of outlets across the country. I later appeared on DR's P1 Orientering myself, to share my knowledge and criticise the lack of access to palliative care.
It sparked a wide debate on a legal right to palliative care: letters published in more than ten newspapers, including Nordjyske and Viborg Folkeblad, where an editorial took up the case, as well as reports on TV2 Nord, TV 2 and TV Midt-Vest, in which she herself took part. P1 Orientering later ran a full series on the subject, which tied in with the National Audit Office's current criticism of the regions' ability to ensure equal and timely access.
